What does 3 Sonorans think of the fact that the Chicago Store will be a Starbucks? Besides being on the waaaaay wrong side of a settler colonial nightmare, they are a chain that will surely hurt the myriad locally owned coffee spots in the downtown area. It seems that any new construction in Tucson is a Starbucks. From the Chicago Store (which was originally gonna be a CVS) to the Bookman's corner on Grant and Campbell, to a whole article in the Explorer about how Oro Valley has to change its laws just to allow a Starbucks across from the Oro Valley Hospital on Tangerine... They are everywhere. I'm glad there's a few Roadrunner Coffee shops around town.
The old Chuy's on Speedway and Country Club also got turned into a Starbucks... Considering how crazy people are about Pumpkin Spice Lattes for $6, I'm afraid there are more Starbucks to come...
