To put illegal immigration into current context, America would collapse overnight if every single immigrant stopped working. Who would pick all the food, clean all the homes, raise all the rich folks’ kids? All the homes they rent or pay a mortgage on, all the groceries they buy at the store, the gas, the taxes they pay like everyone else, gone!
To further put our current situation in deep context, none of that will matter if we do not remove the criminals. Here is the reality:
We are surrounded by people who hate us, have nothing in common with our values and beliefs, and who will consider us righteous targets the minute the gravy stops flowing. Bush and Obama bombed many of their countries into oblivion and many that now walk among us are orphans from that malicious hellfire. They are hardened, furious, hateful, and will have no compunction to murder any of us as revenge for the US government savagely obliterating their families from bombs and invisible drones.
Here is what has been happening over the passed for years (i've got to give him credit, Biden did say he would "flood the border" during a debate with trump):
Rufus Juice: the entire central American corridor has been set up to transport, house, and move migrants through these countries to the US - minimizing the impact on those countries.
Having been in columbia, panama, and costa rica last October I had multiple conversations with citizens of those countries. They were often initiated by them, not me.
They asked me why the US was allowing this. they told me the people coming here are basically all criminals being expelled by their nations. they literally said this - im not a political plant for one of the sides. they were baffled why this was happening. good people - tour guides, restaurant workers, etc - living their lives.
they said you have no idea what is coming your way. MS-13 and worse, tren de aragua. these are organized gangs - not to mention the middle eastern and chinese invaders also travelling in these groups.
we are not taking in mexicans. anyone who rants about "illegal mexicans" - thats not what is happening today at the border. Most of the mexicans that come here illegally did come to work - yes, they might send money back home, but they werent coming here to be criminals and sap the system.
the people coming here now are in fact criminals and looking to tap into the system. its really bad. you have to dive deeper to understand the real border situation.
Immigrants as a group have a far smaller crime rate than the American population. If we are truly worried about crime, and don't get me wrong, lock up violent criminals regardless of immigration status, but we also wouldn't be pardoning all the J6ers, stopping civil rights investigations. Most conservatives I ask, when they rant about violent immigrants, I ask them how much do they fear for their lives everyday - as they go to the store, go about their business - how many immigrants do they run across? The answer is usually none, that they know of, as they hire them to landscape, clean the house, pick their food, etc.
The irony is that the MS-13 was trained by the US military when we tried to overthrown the government in El Salvador, by our good ol School of the Americas. We are the most violent nation in the world, by far, we make the bombs being dropped in Gaza, and perhaps we are just afraid of being treated as we treat other nations, especially in the Banana Republics of the Iran-Contra affair... wasn't that Reagan?
I actually fear what the FBI said is our greatest domestic threat, Christian white nationalists, especially now that they have a friend in the White House ready to pardon them.
I don't live in the USA, and I wouldn't visit right now for any reason.
