Borderlands Dispatch: The Tragic Transformation of Marco Rubio - From Never-Trumper to Imperial Puppet
Another press release from the empire's machinery, I think to myself, another day of watching colonial puppets dance to a rhythm of destruction.
The Broken Promise
Back in 2016, Marco Rubio stood like a would-be guardian of political integrity, his words cutting through campaign noise with surgical precision:
"I will never stop until we keep a con man from taking over the party of Reagan and the conservative movement."
Listen to this sanctimonious performance, my inner voice sneers. Those words were a thunderclap of defiance – a promise that Donald Trump would never desecrate the presidency.
Spoiler alert: He did. And Rubio? He didn't just capitulate – he transformed into something far more dangerous.
From Critic to Complicit: A Descent into Imperial Machinery
The transformation is stunning in its complete moral bankruptcy. The same man who declared Trump a "con artist" now serves as his most loyal attack dog, a testament to how quickly principles collapse under the weight of power.
Consider these damning quotes from Rubio's 2016 self:
"There is no way we are going to allow a con artist to take over the conservative movement... This is not going to end well one way or the other."
Oh, the irony drips like acid, I muse. Not only did it "end well" for Trump – it ended with Rubio becoming perhaps the most dangerous Secretary of State in recent memory.
"Narco Rubio": A Name Earned Through Hypocrisy
The moniker "Narco Rubio" isn't just a clever jab – it's a surgical indictment. While he pontificates about drug lords and terrorism, his own family history tells a different story.
His brother-in-law, Orlando Cicilia, spent 12 years in prison for cocaine trafficking. Rubio even used his political influence to help Cicilia secure a real estate license after his release. The system protects its own, I think bitterly.
A Threat to Global Sovereignty
Rubio's foreign policy is a blueprint for imperial destruction:
Supporting coup attempts in Venezuela
Pushing for military confrontation with China
Backing Israeli actions against Palestinians
Enthusiastically supporting unilateral sanctions illegal under international law
These aren't just policies, my internal dialogue rages, these are systematic erasures of entire cultures, entire ways of being.
The Borderlands Perspective
As a Chicano activist, I see Rubio not just as a political actor, but as a symptom of a larger disease. He represents a colonial mindset that views indigenous communities, Latin American nations, and global south populations as chess pieces to be moved at will.
We are not your pawns, I want to scream. We are living, breathing communities with histories, cultures, and the right to self-determination.
A Call to Radical Hope
But despair is a luxury we cannot afford. Our resistance is not just political – it's existential.
What You Can Do:
Educate Yourself: Learn the true histories erased by mainstream narratives
Build Solidarity: Create networks that transcend artificial borders
Support Indigenous Movements: Amplify voices from the margins
Challenge Imperial Narratives: Every conversation is an opportunity for transformation
The empire wants you to feel powerless, my spirit whispers. But our power has always been in our communities, our stories, our unbreakable solidarity.
¡Hasta la victoria siempre!
- A Voice from the Borderlands
Note to Readers: This isn't just commentary. This is a call to consciousness, a demand that we see beyond the political theater and recognize our collective power to create change.
This is so true, and just to name a few, Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, and of course the Infamous JD Vance. Trump actually hates them all, but instead of publicly torturing them he simply Pimps them out. It feeds into his ego, how fitting it is to have your enemies do your dirty work for you. The fact is they are insecure men, that are looking for acceptance and are willing to belittle themselves at any cost to get it.
Rubio is only 53 years old. He still has presidential ambitions, and his current position (Secretary of State) may perhaps become a springboard to the nomination. Hillary Clinton served in the same capacity during Obama's first term. [Of course, both Rubio and Clinton had other "qualifications" for the job...]
Sadly, almost no ReThuglicans dare oppose Trump. Most understand that Trump and Musk are running roughshod over the Constitution, but their silence is deafening.
At the end of the day, those who don't want a well-financed primary challenger -- and those who aspire to the highest office in the land (e.g., "Little Marco" Rubio) -- will become Trump stooges.
