New wildfire burning near Mt. Lemmon, Rose Canyon Lake closed
The wildfire in the Santa Catalina Mountains north of Tucson, AZ may have started due to lightning overnight.
Residents of Catalina, AZ shared storied of thunderstorms overnight on Tuesday morning, June 20th, 2023, saying it could be heard booming in the desert off the mountains at 2 am in the morning.
Now we have a new fire in the Santa Catalina Mountains (aka “Mt. Lemmon” for most Tucsonans) that may have started due to that lightning.
